Given that compulsory super has been in for more than 20 years and the percentage of retirees accessing a pension continues to rise the purpose of super should be defined as "To minimise the number of people requiring a pension in retirement". This is easily measured and aligns with the Government's wish to improve the budget bottom line.
It would also put the emphasis on super rather than the pension.!!

After seeing my supers performance over the last 18 years and only gaining at most a few hundred dollars when accounting for loss's and fees in fact the only time my balance has increased is when i have payed into the fund (normal industry funds) i have decided to reject it and shift all my earning outside the regulated economy where super is not payed and its impost to my costs can be ignored.

This country is ridiculous the Accords where a terrible idea and the rentseekers played Hawke for the fool that he is.
