I find as a pensioner who lives via fortnightly Centrelink payments only (no super no excess $$ anywhere) that Afterpay is my savior. I only allow myself a limit of no more than $25 per fortnightly payments when I buy. It helps me buy things I cannot ordinarily purchase - ie grand childrens presents etc, seasonal clothes....i never allow myself any excess buying only what I need. You may think it strange "why dont I save then purchase", I find this hard to do, I budget very carefully, pay everything fortnightly, if I find I have no money after, which is very easily the case on Centrelink payment - thats fine, believe me it is not great and is at times very depressing but it is the way we have to live now. Sometimes necessity is the rule, layby does not suit and never has as it means travelling to the shop every fortnight to pay, online being the easiest. I just wanted to inform you of my experience with afterpay, and yes I agree that in some cases it would not suit a lot of people. I have no credit or store cards giving them up years ago. kind regards Gaye

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
