I am registered &have been following closing as my 2010 GTD Golf is in the mix. I'm dissatisfied with the estimate payout and wondering if after the class action can individuals then sue VW?

In the US & UK like cars were refunded in full as should be the case for the GTD (diesel version of the GTI) that I waited 6mths plus for to arrive as so few, in comparison to other Golf, were released in Australia but now we know why.

Austria's being laughed at by VW because unlike the US & UK we have been denied full refunds because governments like state and local were too con with filling their coffers.

. I did a lot of research before purchasing a new car back in 2001 after considering such things as efficiency & ironically the environmental impacts, the two very factors now put into question.

This is why I am not satisfied with the proposed or expected payout and am considering a suing VW separately.... but can I as I feel strongly about this and really feel deceived by VW & ripped of by the class action and the way Australian laws have not protected us....... the fact that federal, state & local councils are all dipping in to the payout for 'emission laws' being breeched means the actual owners get less and less of a payout therefore being ripped off again!!!!

As you can tell I'm very passionate about this topic and I love my car which I still have and I strongly feel, like many others that's this whole process has been a bit of a joke and the pissy payout being offered is just another slap in the face but this time by the Australian courts to which I'm sure the VW executives that are not in jail are having a good laugh at.....

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

I fully agree. The lawyers got their costs and don't give a rats about those in the class action. It is now Mid February 2021 and we have had no payment from VW or even any notification when any payment will be made. Consumers have been drastically let down by government and our legal system Have you received payment yet?.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
