Easier is not to use AirBnB. Each time I looked to use it, it was more expensive than hotels. Hotels are also safer.

I've used Airbnb a number of times and have never had an issue. I always check the reviews and don't contact them outside the platform. You get a lot more room than a hotel, so I think it's worth the extra effort.

I booked a trip to Kauai in 10/2020 for 12/2020. The host's cancelation policy stated. "Free cancellation until 5 day before check in. After that, cancel before check-in and get a 50% refund, minus the first night and service fee." Seven days before check-in the host informed me that due to Covid I would not be permitted to quarantine there. She suggested I go to the website and cancel the trip. I canceled the next morning (6 days prior to check-in). As soon as I clicked on the cancel reservation option, a page popped up informing me of a no refund cancelation policy. Two days later she changed her policy on her page indicating a 50% refund if canceled 5 days prior to check-in. I contacted AirBnB, they did not offer any assistance as she did not respond to their requests. I contacted my credit card company and they sided with her after she submitted a copy of a no refund document that I did not agree to or sign and clearly went against what she advertises. I am now going to take legal action against her. I feel a class action suit should be started against AirBnB that will force them to place safer policies .

I had a reservation with Airbnb INC. this was also a total scam and never got any information on checking in. I started to panic and when i called the number on the transaction.. it was not a working number. So I was supposed to leave within 3 days and had absolutely zero information on how to check in and could not reach anyone with the transaction. I paid thru PayPal but they r siding with the company. The true Airbnb stared that they do not have INC after their name and it is not reputable. I am so frustrated trying to prove to PayPal I did not utilize the set ice bc I had no way of contacting anyone. Any advice would be appreciated

Apparently I have an account on Airbnb that I did not join? It has my picture but my husbands details. How can I delete this?
