Unfortunately councils dont want people in tiny houses living electricity free/rates and taxes free/levies and revenue free and if you have a tiny house on wheels (THOW) they wont even let you park in on your own land that you are paying rates on or anyone elses property to live in it.

Facebooks Tiny houses Adelaide & SA run by Rob Mair has seen the group have council meetings, put in submissions etc., and come up against roadblocks and chasing their tails. While some councillors see the need or are sympathetic there is red tape and always more reasons than not why it cant be done and yet the group plug away at it

So unfortunately in South Australia we are no closer to really being free to follow building codes and build a sustainable dwelling on wheels for the foreseeable future due to mounting council regulations.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
