Thank you for some good advice. I'd like to see something about what services were removed from the Medicare services list, as there are many who have been waiting for joint operations, which I believe are no longer covered.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

Being cash self-funded used to be a positive, but is now like having a rope round your neck. Until Philip Lowe of the Reserve Bank changes his attitude what hope do we have? Especially as the economy is said to be going so well!

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

On my reading of the legislation and the DSS webpage, the Age Pension is not only indexed to CPI but subject to a minimum of 27.7% of MTAWE. See https://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/5/1/8/50. This means that the value of the pension will not fall relative to wages in the long run. It is however unspeakably complicated and underlines the urgent need for simplification as recommended by Kenneth Hayne.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

For the 'give away' section - what's to say you couldn't withdraw more than those gifting limits in cash and brown bag it to your child/ren? Surely, the sad reality is people have done that and blown it on the pokies - why not say it is a gambling loss if anyone comes knocking. Assuming cash will still be in existence in 15 years.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
