<p><p>You may be interested in a book that addresses exactly this issue a few years back called &quot;Sell Up, Pack Up and Take Off&quot; by Stephen Wyatt and Colleen Ryan. It goes through all the issues: Financial, Medical, Visas etc etc and is thought provoking even if you don&#39;t eventually head off. <p><p>Why not add Thailand or Malaysia to your list (I seriously considered Thailand when working short-term teaching there) The Thais are incredibly nice as are Malaysians and both have large expat communities.
