I don't understand how she is almost debt free. There is debt of $670,000.

Unless you read it that the "smaller amounts" all add up to fully offset the loan? I think that would be the wrong way to read it.

So putting extra money into the offset ahead of the maternity leave, and pausing the shares investment, makes sense to me.
