People should be aware that you cannot get more power to the kitchen by simply changing a fuse from 15A to 30A. The cable from the switchboard to the appliance can only handle a limited amount of current and overloading it will result in an electrical fire. Also, appliances like oven and cooktop should be on dedicated circuits not shared. By law, a licensed electrician is required to do this installation.

If you have already got a solar system and are putting power back in the grid for next to nothing (stupidity tax) then it's a no brainer to get rid of gas. Your running costs (Solar power) may be nothing because you are now using your own electricity which you have been giving away for almost nothing anyway.
