some people may like electronic transactions but I prefer chqs, without all the added costs that cards have, also have been scammed three times without knowing , scammers now are very learned in the way they illicit money out of ones a/c. it is noted the u.k have reversed their decision ,now using chqs. SWEDEN stopped chqs ,now fiscal crime has risen by 75%. Banks in Aust have made over 6 billion this last yr, so saying the cost of chqs is too much for them, I dont believe . Loss of jobs inhouse, no consideration for the consumer, particularly those who have no bank in the town or many miles away. Money orders are impractical . Chqs were used widely in the past,no scamming, good service, very important was the social interaction. What happens if Russia get hold of the secret of the 5G chip ,,,,,, that will spell disaster in the monetary world or severe outages of power caused in peace and war ,WHAT THEN WILL WE DO!!??

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

What hidden costs? Cheques are far more expensive to own, use and accept! Banks charge $1.50 at least for every cheque you write, and another $1.50 to the person depositing it over the counter as it's considered an assisted transaction. EFT costs nothing and has no associated fees for transferring or paying money.
A cheque is basically a big IOU written on a bank issued post-it note. They could be forged. Could be stale. Could be incorrectly filled in. They are often illegible if hand-written. There is no guarantee the person has any money in the account or that the account even exists. Cheques are a huge risk! EFT is basically cash. You pay, they receive the funds, transaction done. All transactions are able to be finalised, traced, proved, reviewed, confirmed and balanced on the same day. Oh, and I don't have to wait three days to spend the money as I would with a cheque either! Cheques are "wait a few days and hope"... how can you prefer that??

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
