I first realised SCR was destined to fail when I had a most unpleasant experience when buying some sound gear for my car.

There was a new promotion released just before I signed up, and I was not made aware of this new promotion. I felt that they should have applied the recently released promotion to my situation. Instead they hid the fact, and charged me the higher price.

Adoption of my best polite negotiation face resulted in an attitude worthy of a Sopranos episode. I was mocked, abused and generally monstered. The fact was the salesman boasted of getting a higher commission by keeping the promotion a secret.

I retreated in disgust. I knew then that SCR was on the skids, as their staff were crooks. I see the same scenario now in the Sydney stores of a nationwide tool store. It seems most of the staff are ex cons, on work release. I predict they too will come to a sticky end.

Bunnings, for all its faults, selects very good young folk, and trains them very well.
