We are the only country as far as I'm aware have complex taxations which allows investors make money renting property and offset lost by negative gering
and other income for that financial year .
I just wonder what incentive investors would have if negative gering was abolish.
I do do not agree for someone have 2 3 may be more properties and some foreign investors who do not even live in this country owns Australia's property and young hard working taxpayers can't afford even one
There is no fairness xx

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

Capital gain used to be the difference between the sale price and the inflation adjusted purchase price. The capital gains discount grossly simplified this to happen over 1 year. The effect is to give a huge advantage to instruments like shares which are bought and sold in a couple of years over property investors who hold the property over decades who pay more under the 'simplified' system because inflation would catch up over those time periods.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
