Who is entitled to assume retirees are not living their best life if they fail to draw down their account balance in retirement? Could it not be the case that retired Australian's prefer to leave an inheritance for their beneficiaries by not drawing down their account balance in full by choice?
Most retirees have spent their lives managing a household buget, paying a mortgage and raising children. I think they are capable of determining for themselves what level of income they are comfortable with and what portion of 'their' fund they are willing to leave behind for their children, relatives and beneficiaries.
This is nothing but a smoke screen for the government to obtain access to your super in order to fund it's own spending habits and infrastructure plans.
The transfer of wealth from families to the government by not so stealth.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
