As a very long time member of the Teachers Mutual Bank I sincerely hope that the expansion proposal doesn't, in the long term, change the thinking of the Banks management from the members being customers to just being a number on an anonymous account. Bendigo bank for years has promoted itself as the caring bank for country people, but recently it has followed the big four and closed well over a hundred branches in country towns in the past year. Every business must run at a profit, but it doesn't need to make a fortune and improve that figure every year at the expense of its faithful customers.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
