Superannuation funds are worse. THey now PREVENT you from logging into your own account, unless you go and buy an expensive mobile telephone handset and pay $$$ to keep it connected!! Smart people use VOIP which is much cheaper. If you are silly enough to give super funds a mobile number...you better check their smallprint first. A) they will AUTOMATICALLY subscribe your mobile number to receive unwanted SMS marketing messages and even 'important' information about your account!! Since when did an SMS become an even vaguely professional way to send information? It is NOT secure and can be spoofed and intercepted. B) they will sell your number to a huge list of companies (look at their 'privacy' statements!) including social media companies!! Your private details and your mobile number !! A huge number of people cannot even use a mobile telephone (e.g. disabilities, or cannot afford the high cost of a mobile). They are prevented from logging into their own account because the funds offer NO ALTERNATIVE, such as the far more secure RSA tokens or even desktop authenticators, where the TOTP is generated locally, not remotely and therefore far more secure.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
