Best of the Best 2024: Best Australian Listed Property Funds

Pendal Group has been named Money's Best Australian Listed Property Funds as part of the Best of the Best awards.

Experience, consistency and strong long-term returns are the key to the success of the Pendal Group's Property Securities Fund, which has won this category after placing second in the past two years.

There are three good reasons for this, says John Dyall, head of investment research at Rainmaker Information.

"First, over a five-year period it was one of the top-performing funds. Second, it did this with lower volatility than most funds in this category and, more importantly, the lowest downside volatility. Third, it charges one of the lower fees in the category, so more returns end up in the investor's pocket."

The actively managed fund aims to beat its benchmark - the S&P/ASX 300 A-REIT - over the long term and it has done that since it launched in 1997, says Peter Davidson, fund manager and head of listed property.
