Products were ranked by their comparison rate for a $30,000 unsecured loan over five years.
The non-bank category was taken out by Credit Union SA's Education Community online-only special fixed rate personal loan, with its comparison rate of 4.86%pa - the lowest of all three categories.
It is also free of both upfront and monthly fees, with added free features such as a redraw facility.
