When it comes to superannuation, Australians are spoilt for choice with more than 100 funds to select from. And in this hotly contested award, Mine Super may not be the biggest or the best known, but it delivers on a range of metrics to help members achieve the best possible retirement - and that's what super is all about.
Vasyl Nair, CEO of Mine Super, says this award "reflects the hard work and commitment from the Mine Super team, who continually work above and beyond to get the best outcomes for our members".

Over the past four years, Mine Super has taken strategic and transformative steps. Nair says this includes transformation of its operating model and a wholesale change to its investment strategy.
"We've been diligent in our approach, we've stuck to the fundamentals consistently and, over time, this added up for our members," he says.
"We are steadfast in our focus to deliver best-in-class investment returns, reducing our fees, being on the ground to support members, connecting them to advice and making sure we continue to offer an insurance product that meets the needs of the industries we serve."
Mine Super has been serving its members for more than 80 years.
"Our deep roots and heritage in mining underpin everything we do," says Nair. "We are actively engaged in the industries our members work in, with a strong presence at work sites and important industry interactions.
"While we aren't as big as some of the other super funds, we are nimble enough to be able to personalise our experience to members with deep industry knowledge to support our members when it counts."
In 2025, Mine Super will merge with TWUSUPER to become Team Super.
"We're incredibly excited about the opportunities merging with TWUSUPER will bring for the members of both funds," says Nair.
"Our threshold question for any decision we make that impacts members is, 'Is it in their best financial interests?' We're confident this merger will deliver the significant benefits which often come with increased scale, enabling us to pass on these benefits to members through reduced fees, improved investment returns and an enhanced suite of services."
