If you're after more data for browsing, streaming music, and watching high-definition video, and can stretch your budget by a few extra dollars each month, the plans in this category, including the winning option from TPG, are a great fit.

The Medium Plan offers a generous 50GB of mobile data, making it a worthwhile option for customers who use their phone for more than just basic tasks, notes Mitchell Bingemann, TPG's head of external communications.

"With our mobile network now covering over one million square kilometres, Aussies can enjoy mobile data in more places."

This plan is particularly appealing for customers with higher-than-average data needs thanks to access to TPG Telecom's 4G and 5G networks with speeds of up to 150Mbps. The plan also includes unlimited standard calls and texts within Australia, and the freedom of no lock-in contracts.

"This gives high-data users flexibility and fast, reliable connectivity," he says.

While it's possible to pay an extra $10 a month for TPG's Large Plan and access to 100GBs, Bingemann says, "50GB is plenty for streaming content, social media and browsing. For peace of mind, we send a text to keep customers updated on their data usage and help them avoid excess data charges."

And a customer can upgrade to a 100GB plan if they "regularly stream content in high definition, download large files or use their mobile data to hotspot other devices."
