Executives sleep rough for Vinnies CEO Sleepout
By Money Team
Money's charity of the month is St Vinnies CEO sleepout. Reigster here.
What is it: The annual event celebrates its 10th anniversary in June, hoping to raise a record $10 million for the homeless.
It encourages CEOs, bureaucrats and politicians to swap their suit for a sleeping bag and spend a night on the streets.
Participants can be sponsored by their work colleagues and friends, with all proceeds going to St Vincent de Paul's homelessness projects.
Where your money goes: 60% of homeless people in Australia are under the age of 25, with 13% of these younger than 12.
Vinnies' Passages initiative uses donations to provide disadvantaged young people with free accommodation and services.
How to donate: Individuals and companies can sponsor a CEO online or make a personal donation. CEO Sleepouts will occur in all capital cities in June.
