Women are retiring with 47% less super than men, so this episode of the Friends With Money podcast is focused on finding out what's going on and how we can fix it.

Despite more conversations and greater advocacy around equal pay, the challenges associated with gender wealth disparity still remain.

Time out of the work-force raising children, disproportionate representation in part-time retail and hospitality roles, as well as the gender pay gap mean women are also trailing men in superannuation balances when reaching retirement age.

They were also more significantly impacted by COVID-19 and participation in the government's early release of super scheme.

Here, Money magazine managing editor Julia Newbould talks to Heather Dawson, Active Super's chief experience officer, about what we can do to narrow the gap.
